Due to a recent move, SustainabiliTee now delivers all tee shirts to the post office on foot. Rather than drive the 2.5 total miles, the owner of SustainabiliTee makes one trip into town each day to deliver the mail, using her own personal power. Yay! It feels so good, and reduces emissions and other pollutions enough to feel even better about walking.
A total of 3 pounds have already been lost, her dog is happier than ever, and all that fresh air and excersize really improves her mood.
So, next time you have a chance to walk, bike, or scoot, take it! It feels so good.
Here it is! A new way for you to find unique items that fulfill your need for comfort and your desire to be good. SustainabiliTee, YourDailyBreeze, and the new 'green' styling company, "Thread Lightly", have joined to create a directory and photo album of the latest and greatest in stylish, earth-friendly clothing and accessories. From independant artists to companies who do good, here's an array of pleasant fashion and accessories and where you can find them. Click here for Style By Thread Lightly.
Necklace by Colleen Couture (email): $15.00. 'Born on Rock' Custom shirt by SustainabiliTee: $28.00. Belt from Second Time Around: $8.00, Portland, ME. Pants from Material Objects: $12.00, Portland, ME. Shoes from Goodwill: $8.00.
SustainabiliTee just had its best day ever! Thanks to a mention in "Notcot.org", SustainabiliTee was the humble receiver of many, many tee shirt orders. The positive messages and artistic designs must have really hit home because almost each design was chosen. People love Fake Bacon, Surface Tension Master, and National Wildlife Refuge, to mention a few. This recent spurt brings SustainabiliTee that much closer to the ability to donate 20% to chosen organizations, it funds an artistic and innovative endeavor, and helps educate the world in a fun and stylish manner.
The earth-friendly tees are being sent to their new owners in 100% post-consumer packaging supplied by StartMotions, or Pemetic Elementary School (where multiple boxes, packing material, etc. are rescued).
Thank you to everyone who purchased a SustainabiliTee, your support is greatly appreciated:) Thank you! You're wonderful:)

Today marks the grand-opening release of 13 new SustainabiliTee designs! The list includes
new Thrift Prints, new colors, fabrics, layout, and more, all at your beck and call.
There are many unique
things that separate
SustainabiliTee from the normal tee shirt printing
companies. One of the most prominent distinctions (besides
environmental commitment, incredible designs, superior customer
service, and one-of-a-kind nature of every tee) is the fact each tee is
made just for you. When an order is placed, it is not just "filled"; it
is hand-printed that day by Emily.
Isn't it cool to know the name of the person who printed your
tee?! Imagine being able to ask "Emily, can you print it so it looks
like a vintage tee shirt?" Well, now you can...
Now offering specialized options!
For a few extra dollars, you can now get your print done the way you've always wanted!
Vintage print (thin, worn through, washed): $2.00
Location (specify location you'd like your design to be printed): $3.00
And more! Check it out here.
The
much-loved and hard-to-find recycled map envelopes are now the official
package of the single SustainabiliTee. These tasteful, elegant, and durable
envelopes are not only great to use, but sealing them and writing on
them is actually pleasurable!
The best part is their 100% post-consumer nature, as they're made from misprinted or refused European maps and produced by DirektRecycling. You can purchase them in the U.S. currently in the gift shop at StartMotions.com.
Even when you order 20 shirts, I still pack them in as much post-consumer material as possible. Boxes and all packing material are gathered by friends and family before the inevitable trip to the trash, or sometimes the recycle center...but directly recycling it saves even more energy than recycling it!
So, when you get your package, please be sure to reuse it yet again. Who knows, the box and its material could be used 100 more times before having to be recycled or thrown out (or better yet, reused in an inventive way). This alone will save 100 boxes and countless non-recycled or recyclable material.
Thank you for visiting, and for shopping with us!
Long in the making, the 13 newest designs are finally here! The hand-drawn, hand-printed designs mix eighties style, current events, and artistic expression to make the perfect decor for your super-soft tee shirt.
My personal favorite is "Avoid Styrofoam like the Plague", because
I like how the lettering turned out, and the lines within the
styrofoam. Plus, I really dislike styrofoam, so this is an appropriate shirt for moi.. ..also, it looks especially vintagey when printed on eco-heather brown.
The coolest thing EVER: A few days after the new designs were posted on the site, my favorite show "Cash Cab" had a question that asked something like: "What does a bug have to master to be on top of the water." Answer: "Surface Tension"!!!
What a cool thing! Check out the "Surface Tension Master" tee originally inspired by a long, lazy day on a floaty chair watching the incredibly agile water bugs jump around without breaking the surface of the water.
"Frequent Flyer" was made especially for a previous customer, but now good friend, Jess.
Who just loves, loves, loves birds and all bird-related things. Jess is
an avid promoter and protector of birds, she has helped nesting
Plovers; among other kind-hearted things. She has a new site that
allows her to consult in eco-friendliness: http://www.greenontheinside
Eco-Alert:
Help! - Write to Discovery Channel to request "Cash Cab" be hosted in (a true) Eco-friendly vehicle.
1. Go to this page: http://extweb.discovery.com
2. Fill in information for under a minute
3. Insert message (see below)
Sample letter you can copy and paste (and edit to add your personal touch, including your name):
"Hello,
I would like to encourage the use of an alternatively
powered vehicle for the show "Cash Cab". It would be great if the car
was the most cutting edge, environmentally friendly, vehicle available
today. People would not only love the show more, but it would inspire
people to invest in those cars. (Please do not get a new van powered by
Ethanol, or any similar fuel; and, if you get an electric car, please
make sure to power it using energy derived from sources like wind or
solar.) Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
