Amazing Ad
This commercial from Ariston Washer Machines is truly amazing and very well-done.
This stop-motion animation by PES is incredible! After you're done eating your rubber band noodles topped with yarn cheese, check out their other animations, they're so unique and incredibly done. The animation "My Pepper Heart" features only three frames of a red pepper in an effective heart beating loop. That is a feat!
To have the best chance of making it into or winning an award at a film festival, your best bet is to submit to festivals that cater to your film genre.
Though more time consuming, it's well worth the effort and you'll have a higher submission to acceptance percentage, (if you sent out 15 submissions you may have up to 13 positive responses if you submit properly).
Things to do when submitting: (some may sound stupid, but they're important).
- check the date the submission is due and the date of the festival. Leave enough time to produce an informative, visually pleasing filmography.
- what were past winners? Try to find them online and see if they're in the same artistic quality (you want good competition and exposure). See if the past winners are still making movies.
- See if you can go to the festival your film will be in, and bring professional and unique promotional material for your fans.
FilmFestivals.com and FilmFestivalsToday.com are two great resources for finding film festivals that fit your animation, film, or video.
Do you have a film, animation, or video that focuses on nature, animals, or the environment? You should specifically submit it to film festivals that cater to your genre(s). Check out EcoFootage.com, a great list of environmentally themed film festivals.
"Planet in Focus promotes and showcases outstanding and compelling films and videos in all forms (documentary, drama, animation, experimental, new media), focusing on environmental themes and subjects by Canadian and international filmmakers.
Throughout the year and at our annual festival, we use environmental artistic expression as a catalyst for public awareness, discussion and appropriate action on the ecological and social health of the planet."
Cool huh?
Back in 2003, Two By Two was shown here!
And, they give you a neat little paybill (list of movies) in an artistically decorated mini book. Here's mine from back in 2003.
